History
Sosnowiec Science and Technology Park was designed as part of the key project: the Economic Gate of Silesia, Stage I: Starting the Zagłębie Economic Zone-Sosnowiec Science and Technology Park, the task 1 and task 2.
The investment was co-financed from the European Union funds under the Regional Operational Programme of Silesia for the years 2007-2013, Priority I: Research and technological development, innovation and entrepreneurship, Measure 1.1 Resumption of the investment attractiveness of the region.
Agreements with the Silesian Province Marshal’s Office were signed in June and August 2010, and their implementation commenced after a contract was signed in July 2011 with a successful bidder selected in the tendering procedure – company SKANSKA SA.
The Park opening ceremony was held by the City Council in Sosnowiec on 7 May 2012.
Pursuant to the Act on Concessions for Construction Works and Services of 9 January 2009, the municipality of Sosnowiec by way of concession chose the Park Operator, Agencja Rozwoju Lokalnego S.A (Local Development Agency Ltd), which signed a Concession Agreement for Services on 25 July 2012. The acquisition of the SSTP took place on 3 August 2012. Currently, there are ongoing activities aimed at populating the Sosnowiec Science and Technology Park with innovative companies.
